Is pot the new black? Or just a classic green?
A friend of mine from high school was visiting me in West Palm Beach when a few of my girlfriends struck up a conversation about smoking pot. “Only Aime would have yuppy pothead friends,” she said, comparing my pink-and-green-clad (emphasis on the green) girlfriends with the skateboard stoners we remembered from high school.
It seemed ironic at the time, but the older I get, the more professional, successful women I meet who smoke pot as what they call a healthy alternative to regular drinking. They’d never touch a cigarette (ok maybe with the aforementioned drinking), but they go through a few joints a week to relax — calorie and hangover free.
Apparently, my girlfriends are not the only ones who get high in their high heels. In this month’s issue, Marie-Claire magazine explored the growing trend, coining a clever term that will surely sweep the nation as the new metrosexual: Stiletto Stoners.
